The Cutler Brother’s “Creepshow” at the Cutler Brother’s Theatre will run Thursday, October 24th to Saturday, October 26th from 7 pm to closing. This marks the 8th year for the Cutler Brother’s scare fest which started in 2012 at their 301 Main Street location in Deer Lodge.
The theme for the 2019 “Creepshow” is “Zombie Apocalypse” and was written by Matthew Cutler. Tours run about 20 to 25 minutes long and they take audience members through an interactive storyline that adheres to the theme. Inside the Cutler Bros. Theatre are 15 actors to carry out the story, a maze, several rooms and areas for scenes, and multiple choices for the “Creepshow” tourists to make. The Cutler Bros. “Creepshow” began in 2012 at their theatre and the theme was a “mental asylum.” In 2014 the scare-show moved inside the walls of the Old Montana Prison museum and was housed there for 2 years with the themes “killer clowns” and “The Green Inferno.” The year 2016 brought the show back to the Cutler Theatre and it has been produced there ever since. Tickets for the 2019 Cutler “Creepshow” are $10 and may be purchased at the Box Office next to the Broken Arrow Steakhouse on Main Street. Tours consist of 5 to 20 people and average wait time is a half an hour. Visit cutlerbros.com or Cutler Bros. Facebook page for more details.

The stage play is written by Philip Grecian and follows closely to the Frank Capra film that was nominated for five Academy Awards including Best Picture. The story follows young dreamer George Bailey (Kelly Cutler) on his quest to depart from his hometown of Bedford Falls, NY and explore the world. The young man never receives his wish after his father Peter Bailey (Stuart Jewell) passes away and he is left to deal with the family business in Bailey Building and Loan. After George meets, falls in love with, and marries the lovely Mary Hatch (Mariann Cameron) his adventurous ambitions seem to dwindle. On Christmas Eve in 1945 George’s partner at the Building and Loan, Uncle Billy (Tom Gomola), misplaces $8,000 and George is at his wits end. After snapping at his family, George contemplates throwing himself off of a bridge but is saved by his guardian angel Clarence (Josh Pentland) before doing so. George is shown a vision of what life would be like if he were never born and it encompasses the evil and cruel Mr. Potter (Kyle Gillette) taking over the entire town of Bedford Falls and renaming it “Pottersville.” George returns home, now realizing that he really did have a “wonderful life.” Other cast members in the show include the secretary Tilly (Elizabeth Cozby), young George Bailey (Louis Savalla), Mr. Gower (Jim Cameron), Mother Bailey (Kristen Huckaby), and many more. Wednesday, November 21st at 8 pm will be the Cutler Brother’s 3rd annual “Turkey Trot” improv comedy show at the Cutler Theatre in Deer Lodge. This year the Das Froot improv team with pair with Deer Lodge’s newest blue’s band “Cottonwood” to bring you a delightful evening of improvisational comedy, as seen on the show “Whose Line is it Anyways?,” and some soothing tunes to dance the night away. The Das Froot improv team was founded ten years ago and has performed across the state at functions such as the Anaconda Chamber banquet, “Jester Fest” in Missoula, the HR convention at Fairmont, and many, many more. The team itself is made up of 15 plus members and generally about 5 or 6 of them perform in each show. Wednesday’s show will be performed by Kelly and Matthew Cutler, Jim Cameron, Zane Cozby, Stuart Jewell, and Jim Tilley.
Improvisational comedy presents its audience with different games and scenes as they choose the suggestions and the performers act them out on the spot. “We have a great team here in Deer Lodge,” said team member Kelly Cutler. He continued, “It’s always interesting the suggestions we receive and what we can do with them.” Tickets for the 3rd annual “Turkey Trot” improv comedy show and “Cottonwood” band are $10 and may be purchased at the door. “Cottonwood” will play a post-show performance and a no-host bar is available to customers. Visit cutlerbros.com for more information. The 7th annual Cutler Brother’s “Creepshow” will take place beginning this Friday, October 26th, and running Saturday the 27th and Halloween night as well. “Creepshow” is an interactive haunted house which takes place at the Cutler Bros. Theatre located at 301 Main Street in Deer Lodge. The show began in 2012.
The theme for the Cutler “Creepshow” this year is “People Under the Stairs” mixed with the “Texas Chainsaw Massacre.” The basic story for both is that burglars are attempting to break into a forlorn mansion with evidence that the property owners have a gold and cash treasure inside. The burglars quickly figure out that this mansion has much more in store than a creepy couple that enjoys their privacy. The couple happen to be brother and sister and they put their adopted children in the cellar once they find something wrong with them. Their protégé is a chainsaw wielding psychopath that they have manipulated to “cut the bad parts out” of the other children. Kelly and Matthew Cutler have once again written the Cutler “Creepshow” and they have high hopes. “It’s our seventh year. Five shows here at the theatre, and two at the Old Prison Museum,” said the show’s director Kelly Cutler. He continued, “If you’re looking for psychological. If you’re looking for a storyline, this is the place to be this October.” The Cutler “Creepshow” runs October 26, 27, and Halloween nights beginning at 7:00 pm and running until close. Tickets are $10 and may be purchased at the Cutler Bros. Box Office at 301 ½ Main on the nights of the show. Average wait times are about an hour. For more information call (406) 846-4096 or visit cutlerbros.com. “Misery” will kick off the Cutler Bros.’ October festivities at the brother’s theatre in Deer Lodge beginning Saturday, October 13th @ 7:30 pm and running until Sunday, October 21st at 2:00 pm. “Misery” is a parody adapted by Kelly Cutler based on the Stephen King thriller, the 1990 film starring Kathy Bates and James Caan, and original ideas set forth by the Cutler Bros. entertainment group. Tickets are $15 to $18.
The adaptation on “Misery” takes place in the far backwoods of northern Colorado where ex-nurse Annie Wilkes (Carin Sullivan) resides in a docile farmhouse. A blizzardy night in early January pulls famous novelist Paul Sheldon (Kelly Cutler) off the roads in most violent fashion. He would have surely died if Miss Wilkes hadn’t been on the roads that evening. After waking up to a true Hell, perhaps Mr. Sheldon wishes death was the consequence of the car crash. “Misery” is a psychological thriller that pins Annie Wilkes against Paul Sheldon. Annie is Paul’s self-proclaimed “number one fan.” Paul quickly realizes that Annie actually just has a couple of bolts loose in her head and he needs a quick escape route. However, both of his legs are broken, and Annie is a dominating character, both physically and emotionally. As personality after personality come forth from Annie’s psyche, Paul realizes just how much trouble he truly is in. The show is deemed a “parody” by Cutler Brother’s Productions because it is a conglomeration of book, movie, social commentary, and original thought. “The adaptation of this Stephen King thriller is a bit darker, a bit more comedic, and still comments on all of the juiciest parts of the book and the movie,” said the show’s director and the actor to portray Paul Sheldon, Kelly Cutler. He added, “Our Creepshow theme last year was Stephen King, and the Misery scene showed me just how much darker and more disturbing the character of Annie Wilkes can go.” “Misery” plays live on the Cutler Brother’s stage, located at 301 Main in Deer Lodge, from October 13th to the 21st. Nightly showings are Thursday to Saturday at 7:30 pm, and Sunday matinees at 2:00 pm. Tickets may be pre-reserved by calling the box office at (406) 846-4096, or by visiting cutlerbros.com.
