The Cutler Brother’s 48th “Comedy Night” and 19th annual Christmas show will take place on Thursday, December 23rd at 7:30 pm at the Cutler Theatre in Deer Lodge. “Comedy Night” began in 2003 at the Rialto Theater and has maintained steam for nearly 20 years. The cast of “Comedy Night” includes the very funny Stuart Jewell, Zane Cozby, Tina Saville, Jim Cameron, the Cutler brothers themselves and many more. Many of the cast are “Comedy Night” veterans having appeared in several years of shows. Local Powell County High School sophomore Louis Savalla will play host marking him the youngest host in “Comedy Night” history. Savalla has been seen in several Cutler Bros. productions including last season’s “Footloose” as the dim-witted Willard Hewitt. Sketches for “Comedy Night” often poke fun at modern day politics and culture. The night will feature Cutler Brother’s “Comedy Night 46” with Valentine’s Day themes as well as chocolate and champagne. Cutler Brother’s 2nd ever “Pinheads and Patriots” Comedy Night 39 will premier for it’s one night showing on Tuesday, July 3rd at 8:00 pm. The sketch-comedy show takes place at the Cutler Bros. Theatre located at 301 Main in Deer Lodge. “Comedy Night” is the brainchild of the Cutler brothers and was originated in 2003. The last 4th of July themed Comedy Night for the production company took place in 2011 and was held at the Deer Lodge Elks. “Comedy Night 39” will feature holiday-themed sketches such as “Captain Firework” and “Uncle Sam, a stage play.” The show takes on the structure of Saturday Night Live with sketch-comedy, a special guest host, and a musical guest. Powell County drama coach and English teacher Solveig Munson will take the reigns on hosting “Comedy Night 39.” “Kelly (Cutler) has asked me to host for years and I’ve turned him down, but now that we’re moving this fall I didn’t really have an excuse to not do the show,” said Munson. Other actors in “Comedy Night 39” include local comedians Jim Tilley, Zane Cozby, Stuart Jewell, Scott Grazier, Kyle Gillette, Kyler Noel, Darryl Barton, Jenna Singleton, Jenn Logan, Theresa Cameron, and Candice O’Brien. Marquis Archuleta and Taylor Caprara, both actors from the University of Montana, will make appearances and this Comedy Night marks the first time since 2009 that all three Cutler brothers (Kelly, Patrick and Matt) will take roles. This marks the 38th “Comedy Night” in the brother’s history. “Comedy Night” takes on the “Saturday Night Live” format with a special guest host, a musical guest, and funny sketches complete with costumes, sets, props, and sound effects. The St. Patty’s Day “Comedy Night” will include sketches based off of the holiday themes. Matt and Kelly Cutler are the co-writers of “Comedy Night.” Sketches in “Comedy Night” 38 include the infamous “Comedy Night” news, “The Ugly Couple’s Club” where the actors switch sexes, a demented leprechaun living in the cellar of a home, and many more. The “Comedy Night” cast includes some of Deer Lodge’s familiar faces. Kelly and Matthew Cutler will star in the show alongside fellow comedians Stuart Jewell, Jim Tilley, Dane Thompson, Jenn Logan, Jenna Singleton, Wolf Winter, Mariann Cameron, Anthony Savalla, and Scott Grazier. Hosting Comedy Night 37 is Deer Lodge native and grade school librarian Sarah (Mosier) Foster. Foster has played trumpet for several Cutler Bros.’ musicals and has some acting experience from her high school days. Kelly Cutler, the show’s director, has begged Foster to do Comedy Night for over six years when he realized how funny she was in the orchestra pit. “I’m nervous, but excited,” said Foster. Other cast members include many Comedy Night regulars such as Matt and Kelly Cutler, Jim Theresa, and Mariann Cameron, Kyler Noel, Zane Cozby, Dane Thompson, Darryl Barton, Jenn Logan, Kyle Gillette, Jenna Singleton, and Scott Grazier. The voice of Butte radio, Carin Sullivan, will also take her fair share of roles. Kamryn Johnson, a high school senior at Powell County, will be the show’s musical guest. Johnson has won many accolades for her vocal performance in the state of Montana. The 36th Comedy Night in the Cutler Brother’s series will be staged this Friday, August 18th at 8:00 pm in Deer Lodge. Comedy Night is a Cutler Brother’s staple and resembles the late-night sketch show Saturday Night Live. The show is the brainchild of the Cutler Brothers and it was first produced at the Rialto Theater in 2003. Fourteen years later the Deer Lodge Valley entertainment company’s sketch show is going strong. Comedy Night 36 will be hosted by Jake Nachtigal out of Missoula who was seen in this year’s “Beauty and the Beast” as the role of the Beast. “I’m really glad I found this little entertainment company,” said Nachtigal. He added, “It has given me some big opportunities and the people around here are a lot like family.” Butte’s very own Russ Nelson and “Shell Shock Lulluby” will perform as the show’s musical guest and the cast boasts upwards of nineteen actors. Kyle Gillette and Stuart Jewell, who last performed comedy in July’s “The 39 Steps,” will take to the stage as well as local Das Froot members Zane Cozby, Jim Cameron, Rex Kendall, and Marquis Dijon Archuleta. Archuleta has a theatre degree from the University of Montana with an emphasis in acting. Other comedians in the show include Jim Tilley, Jenna Singleton, Theresa Cameron, Scott Grazier, and Darryl Barton. Barton was last seen as the riveting Juror 4 in “12 Angry Men.” Annmarie Downey and Mariann Cameron both return to the show as well as Butte’s radio personality Carin Sullivan. Marik Chrisman, who was seen as the candlestick Lumiere in “Beauty and the Beast,” will make this Comedy Night debut. Sketches for Comedy Night 36 were written by Patrick, Matthew, and Kelly Cutler, the latter two also performing in the show. Sketch themes include “Beauty and the Beast,” “Shark Tank,” “Rapper Nation,” and many, many more. Jenn Logan rounds out the cast as she joins Kelly Cutler on the Comedy Night News.

This marks the 14th straight year the small-town entertainment company has produced a Christmas Comedy Night. The Cutler Brother’s Comedy Night takes on the SNL-style with funny sketches as well as a guest host from the community and a musical guest. The 2016 Christmas host will be Abby Kellicut, who previously owned Cattail Floral in town, and the directors are still working on a musical guest for the event.
