“Home Alone II” will be staged on the Cutler Brother’s stage in Deer Lodge after the success the small-town theatre saw with “Home Alone I” last December. Many of the familiar and lovable characters are back for round two and this marks the first sequel ever produced in Cutler Brother’s history. Home Alone II is a stage adaptation on the 1992 American Christmas comedy film written and produced by John Hughes. The stage version holds many of the same characters, scenes, and concepts. A cast of 20 local actors and actresses from Deer Lodge to Butte will bring this fun story to life. JT Perkins, an up and comer with the Deer Lodge-based Rising Star Academy, will take the reigns as the troublesome yet lovable Kevin McCallister. Perkins played a role in last year’s “Home Alone” and was seen as several bit parts in the Mother’s Day musical “Fiddler on the Roof.” Josh Pentland of Deer Lodge and Dan Mitchem of Butte will reprise their roles of the “wet bandits” Harry and Marv, respectively. Rounding out the cast is the Cutler family, including the mother Cutler playing the snarky desk clerk, and many other familiar faces to the Cutler Theatre stage. Tickets for “Home Alone II” are $20 general admission available online at cutlerbros.com or by calling (406) 846-4096. Cutler Brothers Productions of Deer Lodge will stage one of the 90’s greatest and most classic Christmas pieces in “Home Alone,” an adaptation by Kelly Cutler, this December 9th – 19th at the Cutler Theatre in Deer Lodge. The cast is 30 actors strong and they bring to life the story that made Macaulay Culkin famous for the first staged adaptation in world history. Jonah Tilley plays the brattish yet likeable Kevin McCallister who is accidentally left at home when his entire family boards a plane to spend Christmas in Paris. Kevin’s mom Kate McCallister, played by local actress Bailey Chapel, and his dad Peter (Patrick Cutler) soon realize that they have left their son in Chicago and do everything in their power to get back home to him. Little does Kevin know, two professional burglars have been scouting out his family’s luxurious home for weeks just waiting for the right moment to pounce. Harry, played by Cutler Brother’s veteran Josh Pentland, and Marv, played by Butte native Dan Mitchem, are the quirky robbers who bring the conflict to the story accompanied by a whole lot of comedy. Stuey Jewell, Tom Gomola, Martin Alexander Reap, and Kia Carlin are just a handful of names that round out this extensive cast.
“Home Alone,” staged for the first time in known world history will be at the Cutler Theatre December 9th – 19th, Thursdays through Saturdays at 7:30 pm and Sunday matinees at 2 pm. Reservations are highly recommended due to limited seating capacity and may be made by calling (406) 846-4096 or by vising cutlerbros.com. Tickets are $20 general admission. The 10th Annual “Cutler Brother’s Creepshow,” a Deer Lodge-based haunted house, will take place this Friday, October 29th to Sunday, Halloween night from 7 pm to CLOSE. “Creepshow” is a plot-driven haunted house with actors leading the way and a tour lasts approximately 25 minutes. The theme for the 2021 “Cutler Creepshow” is “iconic horror movie characters.” Guests are taken through a seemingly normal house by a real estate agent before they come across a strange sort of “pandora’s box” which unleashes all of our favorite villains from Freddy Krueger to Jason Voohrees to Pinhead to many more! The 2021 Creepshow is written by Matthew Cutler, the youngest of the brothers. The show venue is the old Jewell Funeral Home located at 601 Missouri Avenue across from Powell County High School. Local controversy has surrounded the choice of venue but the Deer Lodge-based production company assures its guests that what used to be a funeral home is now just a building on the real estate market to be sold as a home. In fact, interested parties may attend an open house on this Halloween Sunday from 3:30 pm – 5:30 pm to view the home and a $1,000 prize will be given for the “best costume.”
The cast and crew of “Creepshow” tops 20 people and the tour is sure to give quite the fright in the Cutler Bros. 10th year of producing the event. Tickets are $10 and will be available at the door on the nights of the show. Reservations may be made for larger groups coming together by calling the Cutler Box Office at (406) 846-4096. Visit cutlerbros.com or the Cutler Brother’s Facebook page for more information. Cutler Bros.
