“The Cutler Creepshow” is back for its 9th annual haunted adventure which takes place at the Cutler Theatre in Deer Lodge. “Creepshow” has been a Cutler Brothers staple since its founding in 2012 and this year’s theme will get back to the basics as the theatre troupe will produce a generic story titled “Cutler Creepshow 2020.” Matthew Cutler, the youngest of the brothers, is the author of this year’s Creepshow and he promises that this October’s haunted show will be the cherry on an already strange 2020. “Essentially the story takes place in a haunted mansion where each little room has its own demented subplot,” Cutler stated. He added, “I just wanted a simple theme where we could get creative and let our imaginations run wild.” Marquis Dijon Archuleta, a Cutler Brothers resident actor, will make his first appearance in Creepshow as a guide. Archuleta has longed to participate in the Deer Lodge October festivities but has always had theatre jobs outside of the state during this month. In 2020 he has stayed close to home and looks forward to “creeping” audience members out later this month. “Creepshow” is an interactive haunted house where audience participants are thrown into a story and must make decisions to weave through the plotlines. This year’s show begins with a short stage production to set up the theme before participants are lunged into the theme on a walking tour. Cutler Brothers productions has made all efforts to abide by the state Covid19 mandates including socially distanced tours, limited numbers on tours, hand sanitizer stations, and more. “The Cutler Creepshow 2020” is $10 per ticket and tickets may be purchased at the Box Office located at 301 Main in Deer Lodge on the nights of the show. Tours run October 16th to Halloween night, Fridays and Saturdays beginning at 7:00 pm and ending around midnight. Tours are around 20 minutes long and run every half an hour on a first come first serve basis. Reservations are accepted by calling (406) 846-4096. Visit cutlerbros.com for more details.

Comedy Night is the brainchild of Kelly, Matthew, and Patrick Cutler and it was first produced in 2003. The comedic sketch show resembles Saturday Night Live with a special guest host, musical guest, and several original sketches written by the Cutler brothers. Comedy Night 44 will be hosted by New York’s John Knispel and the musical guest will be area favorite John Montoya. Knispel has been on and off the Cutler Bros. stage since 2011 taking leading roles in “Annie,” “Thoroughly Modern Millie,” “Oklahoma,” and more. Montoya has been entertaining audiences in establishments across Montana for several years. Sketches for Comedy Night 44 include a spoof on the hit TV show “Ghost Hunters,” a father that thinks he’s a clown, a Twilight Zone Episode, Behind the Scenes of The Wizard of Oz, and more. The Comedy Night News, a crowd favorite, will also be co-anchored by Knispel and Kelly Cutler. The cast is 14 comedians strong. Tickets for the Cutler Brother’s 44th Comedy Night are $12 and may be reserved by calling their box office at (406) 846-4096. Visit cutlerbros.com for more information.
“Romeo and Juliet,” the Shakespeare classic, will open in Deer Lodge at the Cutler Bros. Theatre on Friday, July 24th and run to Sunday, August 16th with showings Friday and Saturday nights at 7:30 pm and Sunday matinees at 2:00 pm. The second play of the Cutler Brother’s altered season will be directed by veteran to the Cutler stage and resident actor Marquis Dijon Archuleta in his directorial debut with the troupe. Archuleta first took roles at the Cutler Bros. Theatre in 2014 when he played Crooks in “Of Mice and Men” and Benny Southstreet in “Guys and Dolls.” Since that time, he has been back to Deer Lodge for every summer theatre season for at least one show. His resume at Cutler Brothers includes roles in “Chicago,” “To Kill a Mockingbird” (Tom Robinson), “Jesus Christ Superstar” (Peter), “Damn Yankees,” “The Little Mermaid” (Sebastian), and many more. Archuleta is a graduate from the University of Montana’s theatre program with an emphasis in acting and is excited to deliver to audiences his interpretation of this timeless piece. In his directorial debut the “Romeo and Juliet” that will be presented will have a modern flare and even take place in certain locations around Montana. “The plotlines of this show seem to never lose their relevancy, no matter what year the show is produced,” Archuleta stated. He would know. Marquis has performed “Romeo and Juliet” over 5 times playing 5 different roles as well as countless other Shakespeare in Missoula, MT and at the Tennessee Shakespeare Company. On top of the directorial debut, Marquis will play the extensive role of Friar Laurence in the show among a solid cast of Deer Lodge-locals and a few recruited Missoulians. Jourdan Nokleby (Nurse) and Erin Agner (Sampson/Friar John) will both make their Deer Lodge-debuts as well and both have broad credits with the University of Montana, Montana Repertory Theatre, and other companies across the country. Lee Hague, a Deer Lodgian, makes his theatrical debut as the Prince and Matthew (Tybalt) and Patrick (Lord Capulet) Cutler will represent the Cutler family in the production. Romeo will be played by Louis Savalla and Juliet by Megan Blue Earth-Highley, both of which will be freshmen in high school this fall.

Tickets are $20 general admission and interested parties are encouraged to visit the Cutler Brothers Productions Facebook page for current specials. Reservations are recommended due to social distancing efforts and may be made by calling the box office at (406) 846-4096. Visit cutlerbros.com for more information. “Mayhem in Montana,” is the title of Kelly Cutler’s latest comedy and will be the opening show of the Cutler Brother’s 2020 theatre season in Deer Lodge. Cutler Brothers Productions will present an altered theatre season due to the Covid19 pandemic and the original comedy will begin this Friday at their theatre. “Mayhem in Montana” is Kelly Cutler’s 9th original play and the second to be written within the last year. “The Wizard of OZ” was supposed to be the June production in Deer Lodge but plans were changed due to what was happening around the world. “We just thought we should go with a smaller cast and something that’s a little more budget-friendly after all of the chaos,” Cutler, who also directs the show, said. The original comedy takes place in present times at a luxurious lakefront property on Flathead Lake that is owned by the mafia of the Northwest. The Don, who has a double life as a married man named Chad, decides that it is time to move the mob’s secret Montana hideout elsewhere so he can move his wife in from Chicago. However, he doesn’t realize that he is part of a major investigation underway by the FBI into his shady affairs. Two of the FBI’s top agents, who are undercover as the characters “the Dork and Paul,” are tasked with the covert op mission. Things become a bit hairy when the Northwest mob step on the toes of a neighboring mob and they all end up in Montana. Mistaken identity and wacky personalities rule the day in “Mayhem in Montana.” The show has a cast of ten and will see all three Cutler brothers on stage for a moment. Kelly Cutler directs the show and plays the roles of Dan and Paul. Patrick Cutler, who recently moved back to the state from Alaska, will relive his iconic role of the Dork which he delighted audiences with between 2001 to 2004. Matt Loehrke will make his Cutler brother’s debut as the Don and Chad. Loehrke holds a B.A. in Theatre Arts from Linfield College and works full time at the Missoula Children’s Theatre. Rounding out the cast is Cutler Bros. favorite resident actor Marquis Archuleta, Logan Beck, Sarah Tilley, Sally Bridgham, Josh Pentland, Kia Carlin, and Justin Marshall, who will also make his theatrical debut. “Mayhem in Montana” runs Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 pm and Sundays at 2:00 pm from June 19th to July 12th with no showing on the 4th of July. Tickets are $20 general admission and reservations are highly recommended due to safety measures that will be taken. Reservations may be made at cutlerbros.com or by calling the Box Office at (406) 846-4096.
