The Diary of Anne Frank
THE DIARY OF ANNE FRANK A Play by Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett Based upon "Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl" Newly Adapted by Wendy Kesselman
In this transcendently powerful new adaption by Wendy Kesselman, Anne Frank emerges from history a living, lyrical, intensely gifted young girl, who confronts her rapidly changing life and the increasing horror of her time with astonishing honesty, wit, and determination. An impassioned drama about the lives of eight people hiding from the Nazis in a concealed storage attic, THE DIARY OF ANNE FRANK captures the claustrophobic realities of their daily existence-their fear, their hope, their laughter, their grief. Each day of these two dark years, Anne’s voice shines through: “When I write I shake off all my cares. But I want to achieve more than that. I want to be useful and bring enjoyment to all people, even those I’ve never met. I want to go on living even after my death!” May 10 - 11 7:30 PM May 12 2:00 PM May 17 - 18 7:30 PM May 19 2:00 PM Tickets; $20 each Call (406) 846-4096 to reserve seats or at the Box Office (open one hour prior to each show) “The Diary of Anne Frank” is presented by special arrangement with Dramatists Play Service, Inc., New York. |
The Music Man
The Music Man is a musical with book, music, and lyrics by Meredith Willson, based on a story by Willson and Franklin Lacey. The plot concerns con man Harold Hill, who poses as a boys' band organizer and leader and sells band instruments and uniforms to naive Midwestern townsfolk, promising to train the members of the new band. Harold is no musician, however, and plans to skip town without giving any music lessons. Prim librarian and piano teacher Marian sees through him, but when Harold helps her younger brother overcome his lisp and social awkwardness, Marian begins to fall in love. Harold risks being caught to win her.
In 1957, the show became a hit on Broadway, winning five Tony Awards, including Best Musical, and running for 1,375 performances. The Complete History of America (abridged)

The Chopping Block, When the wild-wild west meets the Giving Tree. Montana’s 1st original musical follows the young wanderer Mack Haroldson and his relationship with a talking apple tree. Constantly seeking advice and receiving favors from the tree, Mack sets out to impress his best friend and long-time crush Miss Jane Elliot. The only problem with that is Miss Jane Elliot happens to be engaged to Mack’s nemesis and the town sheriff Bill Buckwilder; the meanest, nastiest man in the entire Montana territory. Mack finds success through the guidance of his Giving Tree and continues to woo Miss Jane away from the sinister arms of Bill. “The Chopping Block” is a comedy-drama with plenty to laugh at, but also a focused look at the darker side of the wild-wild west.
