Arsenic and Old Lace by Joseph Kesserling. This comedy takes place in the Brewster family home, where most members of the family are found to
be mentally unstable. The two elderly aunts are very kind-hearted and generous. Their charitable work includes
poisoning lonely old gentlemen who come to their house looking for a room to rent. Of course they are given proper burial
services in the basement where nephew "Teddy", aka the President, is digging the Panama Canal. Teddy's brother Jonathan, recently
escaped from the home for the criminally insane, shows up with a stiff that he too would like to bury in the basement.
Brother Mortimer, play critic, is the fairly sane family member who tries to save them all from going to prison by getting
them all committed to "Happydale", sanitarium. Lots of confusion, mixed up bodies, plots, and subplots.

Our musical will be the hilarious A Funny Thing Happened
on the Way to the Forum . Set back in the Roman Times, Pseudolus, slave to the family of Senex and Domina,
makes a deal with his Master's son Hero that goes something like this: In exchange for his freedom, he must obtain from
the House of Marcus Lycus (dealing in beautiful women) one beautiful young courtesan named Philia for Hero, who has fallen
in love with her at first sight. Pseudolus has difficulty securing this match because Philia has already been purchased
by Army Captain Miles Gloriosus, who is on his way to Rome to claim his new bride. Driven by his yearning to be free,
Pseudolus hatches a complicated scheme that involves trickery, deception, mistaken identity, and wild chase scenes.
Hilarious script by Burt
Shevelove and Larry Gelbart; music by Stephen Sondheim
